My wife and I stayed at Riad Qodwa for a week (22-29 December). Situated about 20 minutes' drive from Jemaa El Fna Place, this oasis of peace and calm has a huge courtyard with a large, well-maintained swimming pool in the middle. Orange, citrus, pomegranate, olive and rosemary trees adorn the place. Beautiful peacocks roam freely during the day. Moush, the resident kitty is so cute!We felt really pampered by the staff of Riad Qodwa. Khalid, the manager, will pull all the stops to cater to the needs of the residents. He even got us some scrumptious home-made harissa which we took back to London. Abdussamad, the waiter, always had a smile on his face. Hamide, another waiter, was so helpful. Shenaz and I LOVE the freshly-squeezed orange juice. DIVINE! The traditional Moroccan dishes on the menu were scrumptious, too.Riad Qodwa always provides a free shuttle service to and from Marrakech city centre twice a day by Yusuf, the driver. All trips can be arranged with Khalid. The trip to Ourika Valley has to be our most memorable trip. Seeing is believing! Thank you, Riad Qodwa! We miss you guys and will certainly return.

When we arrived at the hotel we were given a lovely welcome by 2 men called Khalid and Hassan (not sure how to spell the names) and throughout our time spent here they were so helpful and the nicest people to be around. The hotel was stunning, we stayed in the suite which was really big and was cleaned everyday. The 2 men were so helpful despite we were English and not many people spoke that language there but they seemed to understand us and they helped us out the best they could which I really appreciated. On our second day we were going into Marrakech and Khalid swapped our notes into coins and smaller notes for pictures with monkeys and snakes and warned us what it was going to be like and what to do and what not to do which was so helpful as we would have had no idea if he wouldn’t have said anything. On our 4th day we went camel riding and again through the hotel those lovely men booked it for us and told us what time the taxi would pick us up and told us about it and we got advised to do it at sunset and we did and was the best experience of the holiday. The next day I didn’t feel well I think I had the Moroccan stomach bug and I had heat stroke and I was in the room all day because I couldn’t get out of bed and Hassan kept checking on me seeing if I was alright and was asking my family if I was alright as well and then he knocked on the door and gave me this special tea that helps you get better which was really nice of him and it actually helped so if it wasn’t for him I don’t think I would have been well on my last day so thank you. On our last day we went into Marrakech and again the men were lovely with organising the taxis to come and pick us up and were so helpful. Overall I have loved my stay here one of the best holidays I have been in and the hotel was amazing the food is really nice and the staff were so helpful and caring towards us. Thank you for making it the best stay for me and my family and I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone because we loved it!

Negative reviews and overselling marketing ploys by booking agents (to describe this Riad as a 4/5* is misleading) bely the beauty, peace and hospitality of Riad Qodwa.  It's true the property would be helped with some refurbishment but the Morroccon style is rustic, charming and beautiful. If you're looking for the conventional, want entertainment reps encouraging water exercises, games, volley ball, hard sell on drinks etc look elsewhere..We stayed for 12 nights August 2018. The weather was gloriously hot and sunny. On arrival we were met by the lovely Hamid who provided us a map and went through key areas of interest, and settled us into our room. Khalid also provided a warm welcome, tips on pricing and haggling.This a cool, relaxed, chilled, no sell Riad in the middle of nowhere. Exactly what I wanted and greatly recieved. Food service requires some planning but given the level of staffing and numbers of check ins/out which happen on a daily basis, the frequent demands by guests, it is forgivable, and not a hardship for a laid back holiday. Rooms were cleaned daily, sheets, towels changed daily. Staff were always accommodating (even trying to find a spider in the bottom of the pool my son thought he saw). The pool is cleaned every morning and chlorinated, the temperature was wonderful.Twice daily shuttle into the medina is free. Our excursions were all booked through the Riad without any problems, and all reasonably priced.I've fallen in love with Marrakesh! Having visited 63 places around the world this has been by far the best experience. Thank you dearly, Khalid and Hamid, and to all your staff.

My recent trip to MARRAKECH will be one of the most memorable for a long time to come.......RIAD QODWA is one of the most TRANQUIL /SERENTISED hotel/locations I have had the pleasure to visit in a long time....out standing staff members...and management....so kind and careing....constantly working to comply with all guests needs...24/7.....khalid ..the manager..could not have made me feel any more welcome and comfortable than I already was...the SUPER enclosed surroundings of the ATLAS MOUNTAINS simply adds to the peaceful ambience of the Moroccan charm.....(SHALL MISS MARRAKECH DEEPLY).....Great location..with a free bus shuttle twice a day to MARRAKECH it's self...only 30 mins drive.....and the experiences driving there make the journey all the more worth it .

I travelled to Marakesh alone with my teenage son and baby. I stayed at the Riad Qodwa for 10 nights and was made to feel safe, welcome and very well looked after.Khalid and his team are happy to help in anyway they can; they serve a good variety of tasty food (both traditional dishes like meat & couscous and tagines, as well as burgers, pizza etc) and drinks throughout the day and night and work to ensure your comfort throughout your stay.The Riad itself is cosy and kept extremely clean by the lovely cleaning ladies, who came into my suite daily to change our bed linen and mop the whole room & bathroom.You can enjoy your complementary breakfast out by the pool in the well kept gardens, with stunning views of the Atlas mountains. Then at night when things turn cooler, have your dinner in the dining room by a cosy open-fire - it was all just lovely!The Riad provides a free shuttle bus in and out of Marakesh at set times of the day, but the staff can also recommend reliable Taxi drivers in case you wish to go out/return at a different time. Khalid issues guests with a tourist map of Marakesh, including all the local sights and attractions. The Riad also organises a range of excursions at an extra cost, but I found the prices to be extremely good value.Overall it was a wonderful holiday at an incredibly good price and we hope to return again soon!

I was here in October 2016 but I did not have Tripadvisor then. I was with my friend and we had a lovely stay!Such nice staff, and everyone was so nice to us and made suggestions with what we can do in the city center that day, the hotel manager always helped us with prices and gave us a map and explained a lot about the city. We were sitting with him some evenings and drank tea. And we did not feel uncomfortable at all any Second in the hotel, even as two young women in a hotel with mainly male staff. The first night we did sleep at the other house (there are 3 houses) which was not so nice, but they were fully booked and in the next morning we could even chose our room. It was beautiful and huge! It is not a classic hotel, but a huge house that was converted into a hotel. But I liked the concept, since it was a small hotel with >20 rooms and the staff knew all their guests. Breakfast was very good, every day we got a different Moroccan breakfast specialty. Free shuttle to the city center 4x a day, we always spend the morning and afternoon at the pool and went to the city centre for late afternoon and evening. The shuttle driver also helped us to get a taxi in the city center and told the taxi driver to make us a good price would stay there again!

This was a short break from sweltering hezt of Marrakech.When I booked the ryad I wawnt looking for luxury but a place to exhale. The ryad just reopened during to the Covid virus so the staff was a bit overwhelmed: cleaning lady was nowhere to be seen and toileteries were missing from the bathroom so e had to askOn a more positive note,the double room was clean, the bed comfy,hot water available and A /C worked fineThe pool is an added value espevizlly when temp hovered around 39The staff especially,Mohamed the receptionist ,was nive and very accomodating.The ryad is located on farm so it s lush and green with plenty of olive,orange and pomegranate treesFor the price we paid it was worth it
